NASA, Google sponsor $1.35M civil aircraft biofuels challenge
In Washington, Google has teamed up with NASA to sponsor the NASA Centennial Challenge competition with the search on for the first emissions-free civil aircraft with the winner taking home $1.3 million.
Of the 13 teams registered for the competition, one flies on ethanol and another flies on biodiesel. A special prize will also be awarded for the best biofuel plane, beyond the grand prize.
