PA prof says Clearfield ethanol project is doomed

In Pennsylvania, an agriculture economics professor at Penn State says the 110-million gallon per year Bionol ethanol plant in Clearfield won’t likely find a buyer because Pennsylvania is a corn deficit state, making it expensive to secure enough corn on a large enough scale the keep the facility operating. It went into a ‘hot idle’ state last month around the time it filed for Chapter 7 liquidation bankruptcy.
