Biofuels Digest Index plunges to 83.66 as post-debt deal malaise strikes equities

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, plummeted 3.54 percent to 83.66 as renewable equities were slaughtered following the US debt deal. For the day, Archer Daniels Midland (ADM)plunged 6.17 percent to $28.60 on weak earnings, while Solazyme (SZYM) shed 6.17 percent to $22.29 as its earnings report neared on Thursday. Among other equities, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) dumped 10.47 percent to $0.77. Overall, declines led advances 21 to 1 for the day.
