PetroVietnam finalizes cassava ethanol deal

In Vietnam, PetroVietnam has reached a deal with the authorities of central Quang Ngai Province to jointly invest and develop ethanol production and supply in the regional market. PetroVietnam’s ethanol plant in Quang Ngai will begin trials in October and come online on Nov. 15.

It will be the duty of the regional government to encourage farmers to grow cassava to supply the facility including incentives for farmers and sign contracts with them to buy their product while investing infrastructure, including roads, irrigation and waste water treatment systems.
