In Mexico, Brazil’s Odebrecht will invest $900 million in Veracruz’s first sugarcane ethanol mill in an attempt to revitalize the region’s cane industry. Though the location hasn’t yet been decided, the basin of Papaloapan and in the area Jesus Carranza are currently options for siting the facility.

The sugar and ethanol mill will crush 5,000 tons per day and will be part of the $3.5 billion Etileno XXI scheme.
