India abandons E5 in seven states on supply shortages

In India, R.P.N. Singh, Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas informed India’s parliament that of the 1,050 million liters of ethanol required for reaching an E-5 blend, the government has only been able to procure 287.9 million liters as of July 31.  As a result, the E-5 program is only being implemented in 13 of 20 notified states and 3 of the four union territories.
