Vilsack, Mabus launch RFI for $510M US investment in advanced biofuels

August 31, 2011 |

In Washington, Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Energy Steven Chu, and Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus want “critical information” from stakeholders about exactly how President Barack Obama’s recent announcement to invest $510 million in advancing biofuels should be spent to leverage private sector investment.

The RFI seeks to obtain information about capabilities and market information related to advanced drop-in hydrocarbon biofuels production, a technology of interest for planning purposes. Of particular interest are the technical, manufacturing and market barriers to establishing a viable business for advanced drop-in hydrocarbon biofuels.

The RFI can be found here.
