Solazyme, Joule Unlimited named World Economic Forum Technology Pioneers

September 1, 2011 |

In California and Massachusetts, Solazyme and Joule Unlimited Technologies have been named to the World Economic Forum’s 2012 class of Technology Pioneers.

Technology Pioneer candidates undergo a rigorous selection process and are evaluated by more than 50 global experts in the fields of technology, academics, journalism and venture capital. Selected companies must demonstrate visionary leadership, show the signs of being long-standing market leaders, and their technology must be proven.

Solazyme was chosen from hundreds of applications due to their visionary leadership, proven success and revolutionary technology platform.

Joule was recognized for the potential of its Helioculture technology to significantly impact both business and society through sustainable, cost-efficient and high-volume production of renewable fuels and chemicals.

Solazyme CTO Harrison Dillon will accept the award at the Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Dalian, China, in September and Solazyme CEO Jonathan Wolfson will head to Davos in 2012 to participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting.
