North American BioFuels hesitates on West Virginia project

September 5, 2011 |

In West Virginia, North American BioFuels, a waste to biofuels company, has told Hampshire County that due to lack of a gas supply, and the extensive soil studies and remediation needed for a proposed site, NAB has changed their plans.  Business Development’s Executive Director Pat Ford, has stated that his agency has been showing NAB properties in the two most northern counties in the state.  Ford explains, “We’d have to find land for it, we need to make sure we’ve worked out the logistics to make sure we can get an ample supply of the material — garbage — they’d need to create fuel. Plus, we have to decide if this is the type of land use the Northern Panhandle is interested in supporting or embracing. We haven’t approached our elected officials yet because this is very early in the discovery stage.”
