Mozambique has 30 ethanol projects underway

September 6, 2011 |

In Mozambique, over 30 biofuel projects are currently underway with a total investment of over US$100 million. However, the Agricultural Promotion Centre (CEPAGRI) is still carrying out an inventory to determine the exact number and scale of the projects.
According to CEPAGRI, if all existing projects become fully operational, the country will save more than US$682 million dollars per year through reduced fuel imports. The Centre also believes that there will be enough ethanol and biodiesel to mix with fossil fuels, which will become mandatory next year. As of 2012, Mozambique will institute E10 and B3 blending.
