Mozambique government says new Procana ethanol investor ID's by year end

September 13, 2011 |

In Mozambique, the government expects to announce by the end of the year who will be the new investor in charge of the former Procana sugarcane ethanol project in Massingir district, in the southern province of Gaza. The government held a tender earlier in the year to find the new investor and negotiations are continuing. The Procana project was revoked by the government in 2009 after the $500 million in promised investment failed to materialize and only 800 of the 30,000 hectares allotted had been cleared.
