September 28, 2011 |

In the Philippines, the Philippine National Oil Co.-Alternative Fuels Corp is in talks regarding an exploratory 1,000 hectare sweet sorghum plantation in Negros Occidental that would be feedstock for the country’s first ethanol production using the crop.

Investment estimates are up to $1.73 million, and the feedstock would be processed at the San Carlos Bioenergy ethanol plant. The trial plantation would supply feedstock for 2.5 million liters annually.
