Rio Valley Biofuels receives USDA rural development grant

In New Mexico, Rio Valley Biofuels who produces up to 1.5 million gallons of biodiesel annually from recycled vegetable oil has received a $40,962 grant from USDA Rural Development to help upgrade the facility’s chiller and vacuum pump and hire two new employees. The company says that it needs grants like these to upgrade its facilities because it is forced to buy its feedstock at $2 to $3 per gallon.
