October 19, 2011 |

In France, estimates for 2010/11 and 2011/12 use of soft wheat for ethanol production, both fuel and non-fuel, are seen as flat at around 1.6 million metric tons. Use in 2009/10 reached 1.5 million tonnes. The country’s soft wheat harvest for this year is seen down from last year’s production of 35.7 million tons to just 33.8 million tons, but that’s higher than the original estimate of 33.4 million tons.
