Alabama Renewable Energy mulls Louisiana biodiesel project

In Louisiana, Alabama Renewable Energy may invest $30 million in a 30 million gallon per year biodiesel plant at the Port of Greater Baton Rouge. The company has asked for a six-month option on 3.5 acres at the port that used to be used as a specialty chemicals facility in the past. Biofuel produced from the facility would then have road, rail and port transport options.
