US biodiesel sets new RIN record in August

In Washington, the Environmental Protection Agency is reporting that RIN numbers corresponding to biodiesel production hit record levels for the fifth month in a row in August at 166.33mn RINs, up 16% over July, while actual production was 110.04 million gallons, up 14% over July. Total 2011 biodiesel production through August is at 597 million gallons.
