November 8, 2011 |

In Texas, the USDA has given $3 million to White Energy in order to help it transition its 118 million gallon ethanol plants in Hereford and Plainview away from corn as a feedstock and introduce other raw materials. The plants can transition to animal fats, cottonseed, vegetable, and soybean oils, milo, and wheat starch to produce biodiesel or ethanol.
The USDA handed out a total of $8.5 million to producers in Texas who in addition to White Energy included Agribiofuels of Liberty County, Beacon Energy Corporation of Johnson County, Double Diamond Energy of Castro County, Green Earth Fuels of Harris County, Insight Equity in Tarrant County, Levelland/Hockley of Hockley County, Pacific Biodiesel Texas from Hill County, and Port Neches in Jefferson County.
