United Ethanol will fork up $700,000 for air pollution violations

In Wisconsin, Beaver Dam-based United Ethanol must pay a $700,000 fine to settle a complaint by the Wisconsin Justice Department that over several years the company’s ethanol plant in Milton committed 15 different air pollution violations. The justice department alleges that the air emissions limits were exceeded several times and that the company failed to install and maintain air pollution control equipment at the 42-million-gallon-a-year facility.
