Viridis Fuels secures contract for cooking oil facility in downtown San Francisco

In California, Viridis Fuels has won a long-term contract to build a used cooking oil-based biodiesel facility near the Oakland Bay Bridge toll plaza. The $80 million, 20 million gallon per year facility will be capable of processing multiple feedstocks and will include solar and CHP technology to power production. The East Bay Municipal Utility District sought RFPs from more than 100 biofuels companies in 2009 with Viridis Fuels being one of the winners.
