KABB aims to halve cost of aggregating crop stubble for biofuels

November 14, 2011 |

In Kansas, the Kansas Alliance for BioRefining and BioEnergy (KABB) is working on a project to bring down the cost of collecting, storing, and hauling crop stubble. The project is funded a $4.8m grant from the federal stimulus package that was originally intended for a weatherization project which failed to materialize in time. The group hopes to bring down the cost of transportation from $70/ton to $35/ton.
