Malayan Banking launches $500 million cleantech equity fund

In Malaysia, Malayan Banking has launched a $500 million equity fund that will invest in biomass, biofuel, wind, solar, geothermal, small hydro, and energy efficiency in the Asia-Pacific region, with focus on China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.

The Asian Development Bank and International Finance Corporation will contribute $20 million and $17.5 million respectively while Malayan Banking will invest $50 million.
