A Day in the Life of Biofuels, 2011: First Prize image (#6)

November 23, 2011 |

FIRST PRIZE: Working as a chemical engineer for Blue Marble biomaterials has given Adrienne Bull “experiences I would have never had at other, larger firms. The ever-changing atmosphere here is what excites me as an employee, and sets Blue Marble apart. Here I am closing one of the fermentation tanks used for biomass degradation. If I had chosen to go into some of the other industries that employ chemical engineers, I would not have had nearly the same amount of opportunities.”

Biofuels Digest adds: “If there’s a face to the new attitude around the bio-based world, its Adrienne Bull. A world of opportunity beckoning, nicely captured in a well-constructed, balanced image that puts its subject slightly out of the depth of field, to good effect.”
