Triticale beats out wheat as biofuels feedstock: new research

In the UK, new research shows that growing triticale instead of wheat for biofuel production could have higher financial returns for both farmers and biofuel producers thanks to ability of triticale to outyield wheat, at similar or lower nitrogen applications.

Nitrogen fertilizer accounts for 70% of the GHG emissions of cereal production.
