Ethanol industry will survive loss of tax credit: POET

December 8, 2011 |

In Iowa, POET’s CEO Jeff Broin says that the ethanol industry is efficient enough to survive the loss of the VEETC blending credit. When the credit goes away, he expects prices at the pump to increase about 4 cents per gallon.

Where support is still needed, he says, is in the blending mandates through the RFS, cost offsets for fuel retailers to install E15 pumps, and for programs that help next generation technologies get off the ground.
