On-farm biodiesel production touted for Wisconsin

December 14, 2011 |

In Wisconsin, the state’s biofuel association is promoting on-farm, small-scale biofuel production for farmers to produce their own fuel for running their equipment, producing heat, or selling it.

The most common is 50-gallon-per-day seed presses that produce vegetable oil from soybeans or canola though some farmers are experimenting with ethanol from sorghum.
