AVS launches jatropha, biodiesel project in Philippines

In the Philippines, Alta Vista Securities reports they will be part of a joint venture in a jatropha production and biodiesel processing venture in the Sierra Madre Mountain Range of the Philippines. AVS plans on a total of 110,000 hectares divided into eleven clusters of 10,000 hectares each. The total biodiesel annual production at peak capacity is expected to be 198 million liters for the aggregate area.  Steve Muehler, President of Alta Vista Securities stated he expected that by the seventh year, after tax income of $131 million, increasing to around $154 million by year ten.
