Spectrum to revive E3 Biofuels ethanol project in Nebraska
In Nebraska, Kansas City, Mo.-based Spectrum Business Ventures plans to finish construction of and re-open the shuttered E3 Biofuels plant near Mead by late spring. The facility was shut in 2006 after a boiler explosion, volatile corn prices and other factors forced the company into bankruptcy. Upon completion, it will produce 25 million gallons of ethanol per year from corn with the DDGS fed to a nearby cattle feedlot, and the manure in turn will run a biogas plant that will operate the facility.
