John Lewis turns waste cooking oil into fleet fuel

In the UK, John Lewis department stores is converting the cooking oil from its in-store cafeterias into biodiesel for use in its more than 70 forklifts at its distribution center in Northamptonshire.

The forklifts use a Volkswagen engine approved for the use of biofuel. The company aims to recycle 75% of its waste by 2012.
