Two algae technologies advance in Nova Scotia CleanTech Open

In Canada, Nova Scotia CleanTech Open has chosen their list of clean technology start-ups moving on to round two of the competition.

Two of those that made the list are:   Marine Arctic & Antarctic Technologies of Nova Scotia for their micro-algal bioreactor which effectively produces micro-algal biomass at an industrial level, while minimizing waste, costs and harm to the environment, and Algae Energy, also of Nova Scotia for the innovative and proprietary process for extracting oil from algae for the use in biodiesel production.   The winner receives $100,000 in cash, a $200,000 negotiable seed investment, mentoring, and in-kind business building services.
