Philippines ethanol manufacturers urge for an expansion of tariff protection

In the Philippines, domestic ethanol manufacturers are urging the government to expand tariff protection beyond locally-produced products. The current set-up, according to the Federation of Philippine Industries, drives away investors and companies that produce raw and intermediate materials. The Ethanol Producers Association of the Philippines has already asked for an increase in the ethanol tariff  to support highly committed investors.
