Biofuels Digest Index slips to 70.83 despite Monsanto surge

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, fell 0.32 percent to 70.83 despite a Monsanto surge. For the day, BP fell 1.12 percent to $44.25, while Monsanto (MON) surged 5.47 percent to $76.68. Among other equities, Verenium (VRNM) jumped 5.33 percent to $2.37 on a new product introduction. Overall, advances and declines were even for the day.
