FAO director-general says US causes corn prices rises all over the world

In Berlin, the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization came down hard on the US for their use of corn, which the new director-general, Jose Graziano da Silva, said raises corn prices all over the world.

Citing a recent study in Latin America which indicates only four countries in the region could expand biofuel production without affecting food security, Graziano da Silva asserted FAO’s position: “Food security comes first.”,” he said.
