Germany’s biofuels sector asking for successor to Energy Tax Act

In Germany, the recent “Fuels of the Future” conference in Berlin saw the biofuel sector asking for follow-up regulation after the Energy Tax Act is due to expire at the end of this year. An alternative to the current tax concession is urged, perhaps including a trade quota based on marketed clean fuels whereby biodeisel and vegetable oil fuel would be exempted from the tax.
