$425 million sugar, ethanol plant OK’d for north Queensland

In Australia, the Hinchinbrook Shire Council has given approval to a proposed $425 million NQ Bio-Energy sugar and ethanol plant proposed for north Queensland. The project has already received state approval so is ready to go ahead. Upon completion, the facility will produce 335,000 metric tons of sugar and up to 85MW of electricity in addition to ethanol.
