Philippines’ Eastern Petroleum nixes plans for cassava ethanol, citing lack of supply

In the Philippines, Eastern Petroleum Company has decided against developing a cassava-based ethanol plant rather than a sugarcane-based facility citing lack of sufficient domestic cassava production. The company has already diversified into cassava production with plantations in Kalinga, Saranggani and Zambales provinces.
