In Florida, Biofuels Digest announced the full line-up of speakers for “Military and Aviation Biofuels Markets”, a special one-day session at the Advanced Biofuels Leadership Conference in Washington DC. ABLC runs from April 205, 2012 at the Capital Hilton – Military and Aviation Biofuels Markets” will be held on Thursday, April 5th.
The special session is planned in collaboration with the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI) and Airlines for America.
In our first panel, we look at “Beyond HEFA: Progress Toward Fuel Qualification from “Alchohols to Jet” to “Advanced Fermentation Pyrolysis Oils”. The FAA’s Mark Rumizen will moderate a group including Gevo, Amyris, Applied Research Associates and Virent.
In our second panel, we examine key issues and elements of the entire Aviation Fuel Supply Chain from Feedstocks to Off-Take Agreements. Bruno Miller of Metron Aviation will moderate a group including USDA, DOE, Renewable Energy Group and United Airlines.
In our third grouping, we will look at Deployment and Operations, in a panel led by Richard Altman, Executive Director of the Commercial Aviation Alternative Fuels Initiative (CAAFI), and including Alaska Airlines, Airlines for America, the Defense Logistics Agency, the FAA, and the Port of Seattle.
In our final grouping, we look at state and regional efforts to facilitate deployment, moderated by Robert Sturtz, Managing Director, Strategic Sourcing – Fuels for United Airlines, with a group of panelists from Georgia Environmental Finance Authority, Louisiana Economic Development, the Hawaii State Energy Office, and the Sustainable Energy Research Center at Mississippi State University.
Included in our special focus on military and aviation biofuels will be a structured networking (a/k/a “speed dating” session) with aviation development and deployment leaders.
