Marubeni to invest $652 million in Angolan ethanol

In Angola, Japanese company Marubeni is set to invest $652 million in the third sugarcane-to-ethanol project being developed in the southern part of the country, this time in the town of Humbe. The facility would produce sugar in addition to ethanol. The mill will process 20,000 metric tons of cane per day, and produce 4 billion liters of ethanol annually in addition to 400,000 tons of sugar. The project will encompass 66,000 hectares of sugarcane plantation and should be online within five years.
