BASF to decide between Brazil, Argentina for biodiesel catalyst plant

In Germany, BASF says it is looking at either Brazil or Argentina to house its new factory for sodium methylate, a catalyst used for biodiesel production. The facility will be the company’s second in the region, after the 60,000-metric ton facility in Guaratingueta, Brazil, and should be roughly the same size. Construction could begin in two years.
