February 28, 2012 |

In Spain, the Guardia Civil has busted a company operating an illegal olive oil operation mixing and processing low-grade oil at a biodiesel facility and later marketing it for human consumption. The olive oil had been low quality as feedstock for biodiesel, and was mixed with oils from avocado, palm oil and sunflower in order to mask the quality.

Nineteen people were arrested, including 15 Spaniards, an Italian and the rest South Americans.
