Biofuels DIgest Index drops to 73.55 despite Gevo surge

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, dropped 1.61 percent to 73.55 as the broader equity markets retreated.  For the day, Amyris (AMRS) dropped 6.11 percent to $5.38,  while OriginOil (OOIL.OB) jumped 7.27 percent to $1.77. Among other equities, Gevo (GEVO) was up sharply on good 2001 earnings, 12.22 percent to $10.01. Overall, declines led advances 3 to 1 for the day.
