Philippines, Malaysia testing jatropha biodiesel

In the Philippines, the government is testing Bionas’ jatropha biodiesel. Malaysia will be evaluating the fuel under a national standard to ensure it complies with standards, after Bionas opened a jatropha oil processing plant last year.

Said the President of the Philippine Agricultural Development and Commerical Corp., “Malaysia is still introducing it to the market. It has to undergo DOE testing which is required for all products. I think we’re more on the side of caution.”
