Biofuels beat geothermal, says research firm

In Colorado, Denver-based analysis firm SNL Energy are betting on better returns from biofuels rather than geothermal, saying that geothermal has many upfront capital costs that can be prohibitive while biofuels are supported by the RFS with increasing demand for cellulosic and advanced biofuels incredibly short. Feedstock and offtake agreements are key to securing financing, the firm said.
