Brazil to increase ethanol production as sugar, fuel prices converge

In Brazil, Society General expects sugar mills to switch over to ethanol production from sugar if prices for the two cane products continue to converge.

Selling sugar was 32% more profitable than ethanol last week, but that’s been falling from 35% the week prior and 40% the week before then.
