EU set to approve Ensus biofuels sustainability scheme

March 23, 2012 |

In Belgium, the European Union is expected to approve the Ensus sustainability criteria voluntary scheme in the next few weeks, which will mean that biofuels certified under the program will be allowed market access in Europe under the Renewable Energy Directive. Other programs are under consideration but aren’t far enough along in the process for the European Commission to disclose their identity. So far only seven schemes have been approved.
