Lebanon launches algae-based biofuels project
In Lebanon, The American University of Beirut has partnered with the Lebanese Association for Energy Savings and for Environment and researchers from around the Mediterranean to study microalgae. The project will research all stages of development in order to optimize a new value chain for the production of algae-based biofuels. Facilities will be developed in Cyprus, Italy, Malta, Lebanon, and Egypt as a part of the project.
