Capacity expansion better than greenfield projects, say ethanol producers

In Nebraska, the state’s ethanol plants are in the process of adding production capacity to the existing 2.1 billion gallons of currently produced rather than the old trend of investing in the building of greenfield plants. Upgrading railroad transportation infrastructure to boost a plant’s ability to load more railcars at once is also part of the growing efficiency trend.
