Biofuels Digest Index edges down to 70.56 despite ethanol surge

The Biofuels Digest Index™ (BDI), a basket of public biofuels stocks, edged down 0.25 percent to 70.56 despite strong ethanol gains.  For the day, Pacific Ethanol (PEIX) soared 20.00 percent to $1.02, while Amyris (AMRS) plummeted 7.65 percent to $3.02. Among other equities, Syntroleum (SYNM) jumped 10.84 percent to $0.92.  Overall, advances led declines 8 to 5 for the day.
