Zeeland Farm Services acquires idled Clearfield ethanol plant

In Pennsylvania, Zeeland Farm Services of Zeeland, Mich. bought the idled ethanol plant in Clearfield through its affiliate Pennsylvania Grain Processing for an undisclosed amount.

The $270 million facility formerly owned by Bionol was completed in 2010 and can produce up to 110 million gallons of ethanol annually from 40 million bushels of corn. Zeeland bought another bankrupted ethanol plant, also through a subsidiary, in Cambridge, Neb. in 2010.
