Metsa Group abandons wood-based biofuels project in Finland

In Finland, a three-year feasibility study into a wood-based biofuel plant in the northern part of the country in Kemi has shown that the investment wouldn’t be profitable so forestry company Metsa Group won’t go ahead with the project. The company has been trying to diversify away from its traditional yet unprofitable paper business and go into biofuels.
