Lufthansa gets industry accolades for aviation biofuel use.

In Germany, Lufthansa has won first place in the environmental category at Airline Business magazine’s Strategy Awards in recognition of its work in using and promoting the use of aviation biofuels. Lufthansa’s burnFAIR program saw eight daily flights between Hamburg and Frankfurt flown on a 50/50 mix of aviation biofuels but the program was halted because biofuel prices were too expensive for commercial use.
